Privacy Policy

Property No Jutsu is in private beta. This is a draft policy describing our current practices as plainly as we can, and it has not been reviewed by an attorney. It will be revisited before any public launch.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to landlords, sysadmins, and tenants who use Property No Jutsu (the "Service"). Tenants are invited to the Service by a landlord and do not create accounts on their own.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you or your landlord provide directly, including:

Account details: name, username, email address, and password (stored only as a salted hash, never in plain text).
Property, unit, tenant, payment, and expense records that a landlord enters to use the Service.
Lease and contract details generated or uploaded through the Service, including signed lease documents.
Basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) collected automatically by our hosting and network infrastructure for security and reliability.

3. How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate, maintain, and secure the Service, including authenticating logins.
Send transactional emails, such as tenant account invitations, password resets, and lease-related notices.
Generate lease and contract documents from the details a landlord enters.
Diagnose problems and improve the Service during this beta period.

4. How information is shared

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

Service providers that help us operate the Service, such as our email delivery provider and our hosting/network infrastructure provider.
Anyone else, if required to do so by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Property No Jutsu, our users, or others.

5. Data storage and security

Information is stored on the server(s) we operate. Passwords are hashed using a modern, salted key-derivation function and are never stored or transmitted in plain text. We take periodic backups of account data. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Landlords, tenants, and data responsibility

Landlords control the tenant, property, and lease information they enter into the Service. Property No Jutsu acts as a service provider processing that information on the landlord's behalf. Tenants with questions about how their information is used should contact their landlord as well as us.

7. Your choices and rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account by contacting us at the email address below. Landlords can directly edit or remove tenant records they manage within the app.

8. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as an account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for backups and legal or operational purposes.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is intended for adults managing or renting property and is not directed to children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Service changes. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
